2013 highlights!

What a YEAR it has been! :0 I hope everyone had a safe and wonderful Christmas, and may you have a happy New Year. Lets hope 2014 will be a better year than this year. Enjoy the last week with loved ones, and stay happy and positive!

This Christmas was same old, same old.. (family gathering with tons of food). Howeverrrr I was told to bring Peter along..!!! :) :) when I started working on the farm a few weeks ago, my parents told me to bring Peter along to our Christmas BBQ to meet the family. I was excited, nervous and happy but I was afraid the boyfriend would be intimidated since it's.. you know, my parents. He would have to meet my parents AND the rest of my family (mum's side) such as my uncle, aunties and my grandparents. He also met my adorable cousin, Lidia, who I always raved about haha. Christmas morning I woke up early for an early shift but was sent home an hour later as nothing exciting was happening. I spent the morning decorating cookies and baking chocolate crinkles. I went to pick up the cake I ordered for Christmas: JAMAICAN CHEESECAKE! A midwife I worked with raved on and on about it so I thought why not, but the first taste didn't exactly mind blow me away. I might have to give it another try. In the afternoon, I went over to Peter's place. I gave his family a box of my baked goods which they loved (success!) and I received chocolates from his mum. When I came over, I was in good spirits but that slowly diminished when Peter felt groggy.. kind of made me feel worried and anxious about him meeting my family, thoughts of events turning to the worst raced through my mind. Finally we went to my aunty's beach house on Semaphore, I introduced him to my family and then ate. O-O nothing exciting really happened. It felt like previous years of family gatherings, only difference is that my boyfriend was by my side haha. I didn't have to call him when the event was over to tell him about my day :P apart from the heat and gazillion of flies buzzing around, I enjoyed it. My parents didn't have a problem with him, even afterwards when I had Peter over at my house when they were home. Except we didn't stay long.. didn't want to push it too far. With that over and done with, I can continue life as it is. No more stressing over family not accepting Peter.
